At GDevCon we want to provide the opportunity for actual hands-on learning. So this year we're dipping our toes into the Workshop waters!
DSH Pragmatic Software Development
A Workshop by Delacor, SSDC, Hampel Software Engineering
Where: Conference Venue
When: Tuesday, 20th August, 9am - 5pm
Who: Fabiola De La Cueva, Steve Watts, Joerg Hampel
For LabVIEW programmers who want to improve their software engineering approach to programming, the DSH Pragmatic Software Development Workshop is a one-day hands-on workshop that offers the opportunity to learn from industry leaders. This workshop is lead by programmers / entrepreneurs with more than 60 years of combined real-life experience in developing software and fulfilling projects, both fixed-price and based on time and materials.
The group will work on a solution to a real problem, starting with a customer phone call and finishing with a project post-mortem: From requirements gathering to planning time and budget, from sketching the design to refining the software architecture, from implementing the solution to comparing it with others.
"The unique offering of this workshop is the holistic look at a LabVIEW project over its whole lifetime, start to end. We will address processes and project management as well as software design and software implementation."
"The opportunity for workshop attendees is to put the theory to practice and experience why the things that might seem to take away time from the project at the beginning, end up speeding up the project at the end."
Workshop attendees will learn how three successful businesses go about mastering the aforementioned challenges. Based on the findings of the workshop, attendees will be able to refine their existing processes or start implementing new ones in their own workplace.
Teams would particularly benefit from the shared experience, as it will help implement or strengthen a common way of working.
Full-day workshop including lunch. Limited spaces available.

We are excited to try this out for the first time in this new setup. Hopefully this will pave the way for many more workshops from many other LabVIEW friends in the years to come! Feel free to contact us if you need any info about the workshops or GDevCon in general!
